Legacy Components ("Legacy Components," "we," "us") is an independent distributor of electronic, aerospace and industrial components based in Tampa, Florida. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use legacycomponents.com (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices you have.
We sell to businesses. The Site is intended for purchasing, engineering and supply-chain professionals acting on behalf of their organizations.
Information you give us
We collect the information you choose to submit, including:
Requests for quote (RFQs): your name, email address, company, phone number, the part numbers, manufacturers and quantities you request, any notes, and the optional name or email of a Legacy Components employee who referred you or who you work with.
Conversations with the website assistant: the messages you type or speak, and any contact details you share in the conversation.
Emails, calls and other messages you send us directly.
Information collected automatically
Technical information sent by your browser, such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring page, and the date and time of your visit. Our hosting provider records this in server logs.
Search terms you enter in the Site's inventory search.
Google Ads tag: the Site loads Google's advertising tag (gtag.js), which uses cookies and similar technologies to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. Google's use of this information is governed by Google's privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). You can control ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
The website assistant stores a small amount of information in your browser (local storage) so a conversation can continue if you reload the page.
How we use information
To respond to RFQs, prepare quotes, source parts and fulfill orders.
To route your request to the right person at Legacy Components, including the employee you named.
To answer your questions through the website assistant and follow up with you.
To maintain quality, traceability and compliance records required by our AS9120, AS6081 and ISO 9001 quality systems and by applicable export-control laws.
To operate, secure and improve the Site, and to measure our advertising.
To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
The website assistant
The assistant on the Site is an automated, AI-powered tool. Your messages are processed by third-party AI providers on our behalf to generate replies, and conversation transcripts are stored so our team can review them and follow up. Voice input, when you use it, is converted to text by your browser's speech-recognition service. Please do not share sensitive personal information, export-controlled technical data or confidential drawings in the chat; send those to us directly by email instead.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising beyond the Google Ads measurement described above. We share information only:
With service providers who help us run the Site and our business, such as website hosting, email delivery, AI processing and our quoting software. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
With suppliers and logistics partners, to the extent needed to source, inspect, test or ship the parts you request. We do not disclose your identity to a supplier unless it is necessary to complete your order.
When required by law, regulation, legal process or a government request, including export-control and customs authorities.
To protect the rights, property or safety of Legacy Components, our customers or others.
In connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of all or part of our business.
How long we keep information
We keep RFQs, quotes, order records and related correspondence for as long as needed to serve you and to meet the record-retention requirements of our quality certifications and applicable law, which for aerospace and defense work can be many years. We keep website assistant transcripts and server logs for as long as they are useful for the purposes above, then delete or anonymize them.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections to the Site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
To make a request, email sales@legacycomponents.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it.
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to records we must keep by law or under our quality systems.
You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by replying to say so or by using the unsubscribe link in the email.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and limit ad personalization at adssettings.google.com. The Site will still work.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws. We will honor those rights as the law requires.
Children
The Site is a business-to-business service and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Visitors outside the United States
Legacy Components is based in the United States, and information you submit is processed and stored in the United States.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
